Week 1

For the first week of my 3rd year, I had to produce a poster and a negotiated proposal. Unfortunately I missed the first lecture but I was planning to present it along with the research we are asked to present in Week 2. I have had a pretty solid idea/concept in my head in relation to the over all look and colour scheme of my film... and I have taken lot's of influence from mostly concept art and other short animations. Some of my inspiration has also come from a few alternative video games such as 'Journey' and 'Dear Esther'. Below are just some of the images from 'Journey' that really show the vastness that I want in my own film.

Father and Daughter also use the high angle, large open scenes that I hope to utilize in my film, the use of very few colours also interests me.

These images are from 'Dream Worlds' by Hans Bacher, the whole was kind of the main visual inspiration for my film. The use of subtle colours and space are exactly how I want my film to look.

Below are images from 'The Cat Piano' which uses one colour, and black in a very interesting way. The scenes are thick with atmosphere and it is something I'd like to experiment with when designing my film.

The below film is called 'The Life cycle of a circle' and it demonstrates that a plain character in rich lavish backgrounds does work... the style of backgrounds is a little more digital and graphic than I want my film to look, but the angles, composition and shapes used are just wonderful.

I will also like to show these pieces of concept art that I produced for my film.
